Real Estate Transactions

Jane Chen concentrates her practice on commercial lending and commercial real estate transactions, with a particular focus on representing financial institutions in complex financing matters. She advises institutional lenders in connection with construction loans, commercial mortgage loans, and other secured lending transactions involving multifamily residential properties, condominium and cooperative developments, and mixed-use projects.

In addition to her lender-side practice, Jane represents investors, developers, business entities, and individual clients in the acquisition, disposition, and financing of real estate assets. She provides strategic, business-minded counsel throughout all stages of a transaction, from due diligence and contract negotiations through closing.

Drawing on her extensive real estate experience, Jane also advises cooperative corporations and condominium associations on a range of matters, including financing transactions, ownership transfers, governance issues, shareholder and board disputes, and compliance with governing documents.

Beyond her legal practice, Jane serves as an Adjunct Professor at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she teaches Real Estate Transactions to second- and third-year law students. Her academic role reflects her commitment to mentoring future attorneys and staying at the forefront of developments in real estate law.
